The United States Under-23 National Team lost their second game of Group A, 2-0 to Canada on Saturday in Nashville.  Taking advantage of set plays, Canada opened the scoring in the 58th minute when Doneil Henry connected with a Philippe Davies corner.  Russell Teibert would take the corner for Canada in the 83rd minute, with Lucas Cavallini scoring.  Canada’s Randy Edwini-Bonsu was sent off in stoppage time.  The United States goes into the final match day in third-place, a point behind Canada and El Salvador.

“We want to win, USA goalkeeper Bill Hamid said. "We want to beat El Salvador. We want to show that we can play the style of soccer that we want and get results out of it. It’s unfortunate that we got this result right now to deal with, but it’s on to the next one.”

Earlier on Sunday, US Soccer announced that Juan Agudelo had left the team after tearing the meniscus in his left knee during the USA’s opening game against Cuba.  This leaves coach Caleb Porter with a 19-man roster since injury replacements aren’t allowed in CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying.
