FC Gold Pride are leaving Buck Shaw Stadium at Santa Clara University for a new arrangement at California State University – East Bay's Pioneer Stadium. The front office is also moving from Sunnyvale to the East Bay.
"This is not just a lease for us, this is a partnership," Gold pride GM Ilisa Kessler said. "Pioneer Stadium will be the backdrop for many exciting moments in FC Gold Pride history. We are looking forward to a long-lasting partnership with Cal State East Bay and the city of Hayward."
The venue will require upgrades that will not be ready in time for the 2010 Women's Professional Soccer season. By May 15th, Pioneer Field will have a new playing surface, a running track, and be able to accommodate 5,000 fans. Gold Pride will play their early season home games at Castro Valley High School.
