USA 0 – Brazil 2

August 10, 2010 by US Soccer Players

In front of a crowd of 77,223 at the New Meadowlands Stadium, the United States looked strong early but it was Brazil getting on the score board. New Brazil coach Mano Menezes and his new look roster impressed in their first outing, with Neymar scoring in the 28th minute and Pato making it 2-0 just before halftime.  With Tim Howard subbing out for Brad Guzan to start the second-half, Brazil continued their show their attacking skill hitting the woodwork several times.  Both teams made multiple substitutions on a hot night in New Jersey.

“Anytime you play Brazil, no matter who they put on the field, it’s going to be difficult,” Guzan said. “For us, it’s a bit of a disappointment. Obviously there are different factors that go into it and we were hoping for a better showing. But, in saying that, we know that it’s a new cycle, a new four years.”
