Jose Torres got the start for Tigres at home in the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals, in a frustrating opener in their series with the Seattle Sounders. Alan Pulido finally scored in the 73rd minute, with Tigres dominating the run of play. Tigres finished with 18 shots to Seattle’s three, putting seven of those on goal to Seattle’s two. Jonathan Bornstein wasn’t involved for Tigres.
“I feel good about where we’re at,” Seattle coach Sigi Schmid said. “I think our best soccer is ahead of us, and being at home in front of our fans with a good chance to advance in this tournament is where we wanted to be.”
