World Cup Qualifying: USA 1 – Costa Rica 0

March 23, 2013 by US Soccer Players

In harsh winter conditions at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado, the United States National Team beat Costa Rica in CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying.  With snow falling throughout the game and sticking to the playing surface, Clint Dempsey scored the game’s only goal in the 16th minute.  The game had to be stopped briefly in the 55th minute to clear the lines.

The United States travels to Estadio Azteca to face Mexico on Tuesday (10:30pm ET – ESPN).  Mexico gave up a two-goal lead in San Pedro Sula on Friday to draw 2-2 with Honduras.  Also in CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying, Jamaica drew 1-1 with Panama in Kingston.
