CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying: Jamaica 1 – USA 2

The United States beat Jamaica 2-1 on a stoppage time goal at the National Stadium in Kingston. The US took the lead through Jozy Altidore in the 30th minute. Altidore headed in a Graham Zusi service with the US holding the lead until late in the game. A Jamaica free kick in the 89th minute setup a Jermaine Beckford equalizer. The United States responded, taking a quick corner in stoppage time that led to a Brad Evans winner. USA midfielder Jermaine Jones suffered a concussion in the 56th minute requiring a substitution. The United States plays Panama on June 11th in Seattle.

Elsewhere in CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying, Panama and Mexico finished scoreless and Costa Rica beat Honduras 1-0. The results have Costa Rica in first-place on seven points leading the United States in second and Mexico in third on goal difference. Mexico played their fifth game on Friday after an early start against Jamaica on Tuesday due to the Confederations Cup. The rest of the region catches up on the June 18th matchday.
