2013 Gold Cup Semifinals: USA 3 – Honduras 1

The United States National Team advanced to the Gold Cup final after beating Honduras 3-1 on Wednesday night at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Eddie Johnson opened the scoring in the 11th minute and Landon Donovan doubled the lead in the 27th minute. Nery Medina pulled a goal back for Honduras in the 52nd minute but Donovan scored again a minute later. The referee sent off US coach Jurgen Klinsmann for dissent in the 87th minute. The CONCACAF Disciplinary Committee will determine his status for the final in Chicago on Sunday (4pm ET – Fox).

In the second semifinal, Panama beat Mexico 2-1. Blas Perez opened the scoring in the 13th minute with Luis Montes equalizing for Mexico in the 26th. Roman Torres scored Panama’s winner in the 61st minute.
