2013 Gold Cup: USA 4 – Cuba 1

The United States needed a comeback and a strong performance from forward Chris Wondolowski to win their second game in the 2013 Gold Cup. Cuba’s Jose Ciprian Alfonso opened the scoring at Rio Tinto Stadium in the 36th minute. Landon Donovan equalized for the USA from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time. US National Team coach Jurgen Klinsmann made a change at halftime, bringing on Jose Torres for Brek Shea. Joe Corona put the US up in the 55th minute, with Klinsmann using the rest of his substitutes to bring on Mix Diskerud and Chris Wondolowski a minute later. Wondolowski responded with goals in the 64th and 83rd minutes.

The United States closes out group play against Costa Rica in East Hartford, CT on Tuesday (8pm ET – Fox Soccer).
