The weekend soccer TV schedule has another high profile game in the Premier League, with Manchester United hosting Arsenal on Sunday. Spain’s La Liga continues without interruption after Spain’s legal system prevented a strike, with Barcelona and Real Madrid in action on Sunday. Manchester United vs Arsenal at 11am on NBCSN. The 2014-15 Premier League title already belongs to Chelsea, but 2nd through 4th place is still an open question. Manchester City has a three-point lead over 3rd-place Arsenal. Manchester United trails Arsenal by two points. The big difference is Arsenal’s game in hand with three games left in the season to City and United’s two. 2nd and 3rd-place qualify directly to the Champions League group stage with the 4th-place finisher entering in the Play-off Round.
“Only one thing shows you have made progress and that is the continuity in your performances, and that you have a good level of cohesion,” Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said. “I believe as well that the way we respond to our disappointment on Monday night is a big indication of how strong we are. It’s very important for your season preparations to not have that kind of stress [about the Champions League qualifier] over your head from the first day you start again – it’s vital. The consequences are always dramatic if you don’t qualify.”
