Assist and goal for Pulisic in Dortmund comeback
Christian Pulisic turned in a super sub performance for Borussia Dortmund in their 3-3 draw with Ingolstadt. Alfredo Morales subbed on in the 89th minute for Ingolstadt. Pulisic subbed on at halftime with Dortmund already down two goals. That would become three in the 59th minute. The Dortmund comeback started with Pierre Aubameyang’s goal in the 59th minute. Pulisic assisted on Adrian Ramos’s goal in the 69th and scored the equalizer a minute into stoppage time.
“We were not ready to play in the Bundesliga,” Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel said. “Not on a technical or tactical level, nor in terms of intensity and body language. In the first half we didn’t show any of the urgency and willingness that you need in order to win a match in the Bundesliga.”
Elsewhere in the Bundesliga, Timmy Chandler and Eintracht shutout Hamburg 3-0 away. Bobby Wood subbed on at halftime for Hamburg. An own-goal put Eintracht up in the 35th minute with Shani Tarashaj doubling the lead in the 60th. Haris Seferovic finished off the scoring in the 69th.
John Brooks and Hertha BSC beat Cologne 2-1 at the Olympiastadion. Vedad Ibisevic scored for Hertha in the 13th minute with Cologne equalizing in the 65th. Niklas Stark scored Hertha’s winner in the 74th minute. Fabian Johnson and Gladbach lost 2-0 to Bayern Munich.
Aron Johannsson subbed on in the 70th minute for Werder Bremen in their 3-1 loss at RB Leipzig. Naby Deco put Leipzig up in the 42nd and doubled their lead in the 74th. Serge Gnabry pulled a goal back in the 76th, but Davie Selke added a third for Leipzig five minutes into stoppage time. In the 2.Bundesliga, Jerome Kieswetter subbed on in the 35th minute for Fortuna Dusseldorf’s 4-0 loss to Arminia Bielefeld.
Geoff Cameron and Stoke City beat Hull City 2-0 at KCOM Stadium. Xherdan Shaqiri scored in the 26th and 50th minutes with Lee Grant picking up the shutout. Lynden Gooch subbed on in the 75th minute for Sunderland’s 1-0 loss at West Ham United.
A league down, Jonathan Spector and Birmingham City lost 2-0 at Burton Albion. DeAndre Yedlin and Newcastle shutout Ipswich Town 3-0 at St James’ Park. Ayoze Perez scored in the 1st and 73rd minutes. Perez assisted on Matt Ritchie’s goal in the 78th.
Danny Williams and Reading beat Rotherham United 1-0 away. Paul McShane scored in the 86th minute. Eric Lichaj and Nottingham Forest lost 2-1 to Cardiff City. Forest fell behind to goals in the 28th and 39th minute. Henri Lansbury converted a stoppage time penalty.
Ethan Horvath was in goal for Molde, losing 2-1 at Brann. Molde took the lead in the 35th minute when Petter Strand scored. Brann equalized in the 40th minute and scored their winner in the 58th. Matt Miazga and Vitesse Arnhem drew 1-1 at NEC. Navarone Foor gave Vitesse the lead in the 38th with NEC equalizing in the 88th.
In Mexico, Jonathan Bornstein and Queretaro drew 1-1 at home with Club America. Camilo Sanvezzo gave Queretaro the lead with America equalizing in the 50th minute.
William Yarbrough was in goal for Leon’s 3-1 win over Morelia a Estadio Leon. Mauro Boselli converted a penalty in first-half stoppage time to open the scoring for Leon. German Cano doubled the lead in the 47th with Maxi Moralez scoring a minute later. Morelia spoiled Yarbrough’s shutout attempt with an 85th minute goal. Omar Gonzalez and Puebla came back to beat Chivas 2-1 away. Trailing from the 26th minute, Franco Jara scored in the 33rd and Jonathan Urretaviscaya won the game in the 87th minute.
