The USMNT is back in action on Tuesday, trying for three more points in Panama. Coming off of their major statement against Honduras, the USMNT takes their newfound confidence on the road in Panama City. Also on the soccer TV schedule, Europe switches to friendlies while World Cup qualifying continues in CONMEBOL and CONCACAF.
Panama vs USMNT at 10pm on beIN Sport in CONCACAF World Cup qualifying. Looking at the Hexagonal round of qualifying as five home-and-away series, the USMNT needs to be better than three teams to take an automatic spot. They're a game down against two, ahead of one, and now would like to add another to that category. Panama sits third in the table after three games. They beat Honduras 1-0 away to open their schedule, drawing 0-0 at home against Mexico to finish out the November games. They lost 1-0 at Trinidad & Tobago on Friday. The USMNT is in 4th-place on goal difference, tied on points with the 5th and 6th-place teams. A win or a draw in Panama would move the USMNT past them in the table.
“It’s three points,” USMNT midfielder Michael Bradley said. “It’s the first step in terms of getting ourselves back in a good position in the table. We’ve waited a long time for tonight, especially given the way the two games went in November. I thought across the board, every guy stepped on the field tonight with the right mentality, ready to give everything to make sure we walked off the field with three points.”
