Club soccer returned from the international break with Geoff Cameron subbing out at halftime for Stoke City in their 2-2 home draw with Manchester United. Cameron should miss two weeks with a right hamstring injury. Maxim Choupo-Moting put Stoke up in the 43rd with United equalizing in first-half stoppage time. United took the lead in the 57th minute with Choupo-Moting equalizing in the 63rd minute.
"We were rock solid and were always a threat going the other way too," Stoke City manager Mark Hughes said. "We could have scored any number of goals to be honest. We created 10 opportunities ourselves against a Manchester United side who have really swept everybody else in their path out of the way, and we fully deserved the point.”
A league down, Tim Ream and Fulham drew 1-1 at home with Cardiff City. Ryan Sessegnon scored for Fulham in the 75th with Cardiff equalizing in the 83rd minute. Lynden Gooch subbed on in the 74th minute for Sunderland in their 2-1 home loss to Sheffield United. Sunderland's Jack Rodwell pulled a goal back four minutes into stoppage time.
In the Bundesliga, Bobby Wood and Hamburg lost 2-0 at home to RB Leipzig. Timmy Chandler and Eintracht shutout Gladbach 1-0 on the road. Kevin-Prince Boateng scored in the 13th minute with Lukas Hradecky keeping the clean sheet. Christian Pulisic and Borussia Dortmund drew 0-0 at Freiburg, who played a man down from the 19th minute.
Matt Miazga and Vitesse Arnhem shutout Excelsior 3-0 on the road. Luc Castaignos opened the scoring in the 45th with Tim Matavz converting a penalty in the 53rd. Brian Linssen finished off the goals in the 74th minute. Remko Pasveer kept the clean sheet. Ethan Horvath in Club Brugge's 2-1 loss at Mouscron. Trailing from an 18th minute penalty, Stefano Denswil equalized for Club Brugge in the 26th minute. Mouscron scored their winner in the 40th.
Liga MX, and Jonathan Bornstein's Queretaro lost 2-1 at home to William Yarbrough's Leon. Elias Hernandez put Queretaro up in the 18th with Alexis Perez equalizing in the 61st. Mauro Boselli scored Leon's winner in the 81st minute.
Tijuana's Joe Corona subbed out in the 84th minute in their 2-0 shutout of UNAM Pumas in Mexico City. Gustavo Bou scored in the 51st with Luis Mendoza doubling the lead three minutes into stoppage time. Manuel Lajud kept the clean sheet. Jorge Villafana's Santos Laguna drew 0-0 at home with Toluca. Santos Laguna's Nestor Araujo saw red three minutes into stoppage time.
