The USMNT returns to action against Portugal in an international friendly on Tuesday's soccer TV schedule. ESPN2 has Germany playing France, England vs Brazil is on Fox Deportes, and there are World Cup qualifiers in Africa and Europe.
Portugal vs USMNT at 3:45pm on FS1. A transitional version of the USMNT under interim coach Dave Sarachan have spent just over a week training in Lisbon. Sarachan and the players have stressed trying to come together for the game on the schedule against the 3rd-place team in the FIFA Rankings. Portugal is also testing its roster, leaving out Cristiano Ronaldo but still with a core of experienced players.
"We have a lot of new young faces with a lot of energy," USMNT midfielder Alejandro Bedoya said. "We've seen the intensity in training.... I expect Portugal to come out on the offensive, try to control the game. For us it's going to be important to stay compact, tight, and hit them on the counter."
The Argentina vs Nigeria friendly is on beIN Sport at 11:30am. Russia vs Spain is on ESPN Deportes at 1:45pm. The Germany vs France friendly is on ESPN2 at 2:45pm. Fox Deportes has England vs Brazil at 3pm. CAF World Cup qualifying on beIN Sport: Sengal vs South Africa at 2:20pm with Senegal already winning Group D. UEFA World Cup qualifying playoffs on FS2: Ireland vs Denmark at 2:45pm with that series tied 0-0 from the first-leg. Copa MX on Univision Deportes: Atlante vs Pachuca at 9pm ET.
