The MLS playoffs continue on Thursday's soccer TV schedule with Seattle hosting Houston on ESPN. There are also games from the Copa del Rey and the Copa Sudamericana. The Liga MX playoffs move to the semifinal stage on Univision Deportes.
Seattle Sounders vs Houston Dynamo at 10:30pm on ESPN in the second-leg of their Western Conference final series. Seattle took the lead and the momentum in Houston, winning 2-0. The Dynamo lost Jalil Anibaba to a 29th minute red card. It would've been worse for Houston, but goalkeeper Joe Willis saved the penalty from Anibaba denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity. At home, all signs point to Seattle moving on and defending their MLS Cup title. Seattle could have Jordan Morris back in the lineup, but they'll be without defender Roman Torres due to card accumulation.
"We would prefer that everybody was healthy and I [didn’t have to make] that choice," Seattle coach Brian Schemtzer said. "But if Tony (Alfaro) gets on the field, he’ll be fine,” Seattle coach Brian Schmetzer said. “He’s played in some big games for us. He’s actually come off the bench and sometimes it’s harder when a guy goes down. There was the game in Colorado [on July 4] where Marshall came out in the 13th minute or something and he had to jump in there and all of the sudden you’ve got to go. So he’ll be able to handle it."
