Soccer TV: Toronto FC vs Seattle Sounders
It’s the MLS Cup final on the weekend soccer TV schedule. Toronto FC hosts the Seattle Sounders on ESPN for the second year in a row. The 2017 Liga MX Apertura season concludes over the weekend with the second-leg of the final series. Also on the schedule is the Manchester and Liverpool derbies in the Premier League and the Derby d’Italia with Inter Milan hosting Juventus. There’s also the quarterfinal round of the FIFA Club World Cup.
Toronto FC vs Seattle Sounders at 4pm ET on ESPN on Saturday. Toronto’s BMO Field hosts another MLS Cup, with the hope that this one doesn’t finish scoreless on the way to penalties. Clint Dempsey is in the lineup for Seattle, a major difference from last year’s MLS Cup. On the other side of the ball, Jozy Altidore and Seb Giovinco are looking for a breakout performance in these playoffs.
“They like to do things at a high level, the best possible way,” Toronto midfielder Michael Bradley said of Seattle. “I think for the league to have teams that are willing to spend at different areas and do whatever it takes to make sure that, on and off the field, that things are done at the highest level, that’s how the league gets moved forward. It’s even more exciting to have another season where two teams who are standing at the end are two of those clubs.”
