It's historically the biggest game in England's topflight, and that hasn't really changed. The weekend soccer TV schedule has Manchester United hosting Liverpool on Saturday in a meeting of 2nd vs 3rd-place in the Premier League. There's also a version of the London derby with Chelsea at home against Crystal Palace. In MLS, LAFC tries to make it two wins in a row on the road against Real Salt Lake. Daylight Savings Time begins in the US on Sunday but not in Europe, so pay attention to the time difference for Sunday and Monday's schedules.
Manchester United vs Liverpool at 7am on Saturday on NBCSN. Manchester United is in 2nd-place in the Premier League, 16 points behind leaders Manchester City and two points ahead of 3rd-place Liverpool. Nobody is catching Manchester City this season, so th competition is for the rest of the Champions League places. Manchester City came back on Monday to beat Crystal Palace 3-2. Liverpool shutout Newcastle 2-0 at home on Saturday in the Premier League and drew 0-0 with Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday.
"I don’t think that the game needs any extra reasons to be a big game," Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said. "It’s the biggest game I can imagine. First of all, I’m really looking forward to it but how it always is in these games, they are difficult as well. We need to be at 100 per cent, if not a few more, to get something there but of course, that’s the plan. I think it’s a good moment to go there, but it’s still an unbelievably difficult moment because Man United have outstanding quality. We all know that."
