MLS didn't setup a guaranteed winner for the 2018 Concacaf Champions League final and Liga MX didn't get a clasico. Instead, it's a Liga MX vs MLS matchup. Chivas USA and Toronto FC advanced on Tuesday night to the 2018 Concacaf Champions League final series beginning on April 17 and concluding on the 24.
Chivas advanced 1-0 on aggregate over the New York Red Bulls after a scoreless second-leg at Red Bull Arena. New York dominated the game, taking 20 shots to Chivas's 1 and putting 9 of those on goal to none for Chivas. That defensive setup ended up working for Chivas, holding onto their 1-0 advantage from the first-leg.
Toronto FC advanced 1-1 on the night and 4-2 on aggregate over Club America. Jozy Altidore had to sub out with an injury just seven minutes into the game. Jonathan Osorio put Toronto up in the 12th minute at Estadio Azteca. Mateus Uribe converted a penalty two minutes into stoppage time for Club America. Joe Corona subbed on for America in the 79th minute.
