USMNT 1 – Peru 1
The USMNT finished out the October international window drawing 1-1 with Peru at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, CT. Peru dominated possession in the first-half, but couldn’t find a goal. The USMNT took advantage early in the second-half with Jose Sargent getting a deflection and a goal in in the 49th minute. Peru’s Andy Polo hit the bar in the 75th and Edison Flores equalized in the 86th minute.
“It’s a little something we were working on at the training ground before this game,” Sargent told ESPN about his goal from a USMNT set piece. “I just curled around the defenders as they ran to the first post and I picked my spot out.”
For the USMNT, the focus now shifts to reports that US Soccer will announce the new coach by early November. The USMNT returns to action later that month with a trip to Wembley to play England on November 15. The November window concludes for the USMNT in a game against Italy in Genk, Belgium.
