Both teams finished a man down with a red card to Lobos BUAP's Bryan Rabello in the 68th and Toluca seeing red in the 84th.
Cruz Azul, Club America, UNAM Pumas, Santos Laguna, Monterrey, Tigres, Toluca, and Queretaro qualified for the playoffs.
Lynden Gooch had a big game for Sunderland in England's League One. Gooch had a goal and an assist in their 2-2 draw at Walsall. After Sunderland's Max Power saw red in the 23rd, Walsall scored in the 46th and 52nd minutes. Gooch setup Aiden McGeady's goal in the 89th. Gooch scored in the 89th.
In the Premier League, Danny Williams subbed on in stoppage time for Huddersfield Town's 2-0 win at Wolves. Aaron Mooy scored in the 6th and 74th minutes with Jonas Lossl keeping the clean sheet. A league down, Eric Lichaj's Hull City lost 2-0 at home to Nottingham Forest.
John Brooks's Wolfsburg beat RB Leipzig 1-0 at home. Jerome Roussillon scored in the 50th minute with Koen Casteels keeping the clean sheet. Christian Pulisic subbed on in the 77th minute for Borussia Dortmund's 2-1 win at Mainz. Paco Alcacer put Dortmund up in the 66th with Mainz equalizing four minutes later. Lukasz Piszcrek scored Dortmund's winner in the 76th minute.
Bobby Wood scored in the opening minute for Hannover in their 4-1 loss at Gladbach. Thorgan Hazard equalized in the 7th minute with Michael Lang putting Gladbach up for good in the 44th. Lars Stindl scored in the 58th with Denis Zakaria adding a fourth goal in the 77th.
Julian Green subbed on in the 55th minute for Furth's 3-2 home win over Magdeburg in the 2.Bundesliga. Daniel Keita-Ruel scored for Furth in the 30th with Magdeburg equalizing in the 40th and going ahead in the 49th. Shawn Parker equalized for Furth in the 88th with Richard Magyar scoring their winner three minutes into stoppage time. Terrence Boyd subbed out in the 84th minute for Darmstadt in their 3-0 home loss to Cologne. Andrew Wooten's Sandhausen lost 2-1 at Holstein Kiel.
