The roundup of USMNT players in Europe starts with Josh Sargent scoring again for Werder Bremen. Sargent subbed on in the 65th minute for Werder's 3-2 loss at RB Leipzig. Trailing by two goals from the 44th minute, Max Kruse pulled a goal back for Werder in the 67th. Sargent equalized in the 77th. Leipzig scored their winner in the 87th minute.
"We’ve played great football sometimes, but not got enough points," Kruse said. "It’s disappointing, but there’s no need to get carried away. If I wasn’t a positive person, I’d feel like giving up now. I believe in our team 100%. We’ll have a few days break now, relax a bit, and then come back to go full speed ahead."
Also in the Bundesliga, Fabian Johnson's Gladbach lost 2-1 at Borussia Dortmund. Jadon Sancho scored for Dortmund in the 42nd with Christoph Kramer equalizing a minute into stoppage time. Marco Reus scored Dortmund's winner in the 54th minute.
Weston McKennie subbed on in the 65th minute for Schalke's 3-1 win at Stuttgart. Steven Skrzybski opened the scoring for Schalke in the 10th minute with Salif Sane making it 2-0 in the 70th. Stuttgart pulled a goal back in the 76th. Ahmed Kutucu scored Schalke's third goal two minutes later. Bobby Wood's Hannover 96 lost 1-0 at Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Julian Green's Furth drew 0-0 at home with Andrew Wooten's Sandhausen in the 2.Bundesliga. Joe Gyau subbed on at halftime and saw yellow in the 90th minute in Duisburg's 3-1 home loss to Dynamo Dresden. Trailing by three goals from the 53rd minute, Cauly scored for Duisburg in the 66th.
Tim Ream's Fulham drew 0-0 at DeAndre Yedlin's Newcastle United. Yedlin subbed on in the 83rd minute. Lynden Gooch's Sunderland lost 3-1 at Portsmouth in League One. Falling behind in the 56th minute, Ryan Porteous scored for Hibs in the 80th. Andrija Novakovich subbed out in the 89th minute for Fortuna Sittard's 0-0 home draw with Groningen. In Portugal, Keaton Parks's Benfica B drew 0-0 at Famalicao.
Ethan Horvath was in goal for Club Brugge's 5-1 home win over Antwerp. Emmanuel Bonaventure had two goals for Brugge who were up 4-0 when Antwerp scored in the 84th. Hans Vanaken converted an 88th minute penalty to finish off the Club Brugge goals. Shaq Moore subbed out in the 78th minute for Reus's 1-0 home loss to Osasuna in Segunda B. The game's only goal came in the 29th minute with Osasuna finishing a man down due to an 85th minute red card.
