The roundup of USMNT players in Europe and Mexico starts with Tyler Adams getting his first game with RB Leipzig in their 4-0 shutout at Alfredo Morales’s Fortuna Dusseldorf. Yussuf Poulsen put RB Leipzig up in the 2nd with Ibrahima Konate scoring int he 9th. Poulsen made it 3-0 in the 16th with Konrad Laimer scoring in the 68th minute.
“Tyler had a great game,” Poulsen said. “He won more or less every challenge in the first-half. For such a young player playing his first game in a new team and a new league, he was very good.”
Also in the Bundesliga, John Brooks’s Wolfsburg lost 3-0 at home to Bayer Leverkusen falling bheind to a 45th minute penalty and giving up goals in the 62nd and 88th. Josh Sargent subbed on in the 68th minute for Werder Bremen’s 2-2 home draw with Eintracht Frankfurt. Maximillian Eggestein put Werder up in the 27th with Ante Rebic equalizing in the 35th. Martin Harnik returned Werder’s lead with Eintracht’s Sebastien Haller equalizing from the penalty spot in the 68th.
Tim Weah subbed on in the 62nd minute for Cletic’s 3-0 home win over Hamilton. Callum McGregor scored in the 40th with Ryan Christie adding a goal in the 77th. Scott Sinclair scored in the 87th.
Cameron Carter-Vickers’s Swansea City beat Gillingham 4-1 in the FA Cup. Oliver McBurnie scored for Swansea in the 10th and 32nd minutes. Gillingham pulled a goal back in the 51st minute. Bersant Celina scored Swansea’s third goal in the 73rd with Barrie McKay getting the fourht goal in the 84th minute. Eric Lichaj subbed on late in the first-half for Hull City’s 3-0 loss at Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.
Andrija Novakovich’s Fortuna Sittard beat Vitesse Arnhem 2-1 at home. Trailing from the 7th minute, Lars Hutten equalized for Fortuna Sittard in the 74th with Finn Stokkers scoring their winner two minutes into stoppage time. In Spain, Shaq Moore’s Atletico Levante beat Olot 1-0 at home. Jonathan Bornstein’s Maccabi Netanya drew 0-0 at home with Maccabi Haifa in the Israeli Premier League.
Kenny Saief subbed on in the 84th minute for Anderlecht’s 2-1 home win over Eupen in the Belgian Pro League. Trailing from the 31st, minute, Yari Verschaeren scored in the 51st with Ivan Santini scoring Anderlecht’s winner in the 65th. Ethan Horvath was in goal for Club Brugge’s 2-1 win at Oostende. Club Brugge fell behind in the 2nd minute, equalizing from the penalty spot in the 52nd through Hans Vanaken. Wesley Moraes put Club Brugge up for good from the penalty spot int he 64th. Marvelous Nakamba saw red for Club Brugge five minutes into stoppage time.
Omar Gonzalez’s Atlas beat Michael Orozco’s Lobos BUAP 3-1 at home. Anderson Santamaria scored for Atlas in the 43rd with Facundo Barcelo making it 2-0 in the 76th and Clifford Aboagye scoring in the 84th. Bryan Rabello pulled a goal back for Lobos in the 86th. Ventura Alvarado’s Necaxa finsihed scoreless at home with Morelia. A league down, Rubio Rubin’s Dorados lost 2-1 at UAEM Potros.
