"We started the second-half in exactly the same way as the first because I told the lads to be patient and keep playing the way they were," Wolfsburg coach Bruno Labbadia said. "There’s always a danger that you lose your patience at some point when your opponents are defending well. The team did very well in that respect. After deservedly taking the lead, we failed to score the second goal and then Werder have the individual quality of Max Kruse to score a goal like that. It’s frustrating for us because we would’ve deserved the three points."

In the 2.Bundesliga, Joe Gyau subbed on in the 86th minute for Duisburg's 1-0 home win over Magdeburg. Enis Hajri scored two minutes into stoppage time. Andrew Wooten's Sandhausen lost 3-0 at home to Erzgebirge Aue. Sandhausen fell behind in the 1st minute.
Ethan Horvathwas in goal for Club Brugges in their 1-0 home win over Sint-Truiden in Belgium. Hans Vanaken converted a 76th minute penalty. Erik Palmer-Brown's NAC Breda lost 4-1 at Vitesse Arnhem in the Eredivisie. Giovanni Korte put NAC up in the 29th. Vitesse equalized in the 54th and went ahead for good in the 77th. Daan Klomp saw red for NAC in the 88th. Romain Gall subbed out in the 61st minute for Malmo's 2-0 home win over Falkenberg in the group stage of the Svenska Cupen. Marcus Antonsson scored in the 3rd minute with Anders Christiansen doubling the lead in the 41st.
Jonathan Bornstein's Maccabi Netanya beat Beiter Jerusalem 3-1 at home in the Israeli Premier League. Maccabi Netanya fell behind in the 9th minute with Stav Finish equalizing in the 18th. Fatos Beciraj converted a penalty in the 39th with Aviv Avraham scoring in the 89th. Shaq Moore's Levante II drew 1-1 at Castellon.
In the Premier League, Tim Ream's Fulham lost 2-1 at home to Chelsea. Falling behind in the 20th, Fulham's Calum Chambers equalized in the 27th. Chelsea went ahead for good in the 31st minute. Matthew Olosunde subbed on in the 66th minute for Manchester United U-23s in their 2-1 home loss to Norwich City U-23s.
