Alvarado scores for Necaxa, Sargent for Werder Bremen

necaxa logoThe roundup of USMNT players in Europe and Mexico starts in Liga MX. Ventura Alvarado scored in Necaxa’s 3-2 home win over Tijuana. Alvarado put Necaxa up in the 6th minute with Tijuana equalizing in the 9th. Tijuana went ahead in the 29th with Maxi Salas equalizing in the 53rd. Mauro Quiroga scored Necaxa’s third goal in the 78th. Necaxa is 4th in the Apertura.

A league down, Rubio Rubin subbed out at halftime for Dorados in their 3-2 home loss to Leones Negros. Trailing from goals in the 43rd and 47th minutes, Vinicio Angulo scored for Dorados in the 72nd with Julio Nava equalizing in the 79th. Leones Negros scored their winner in the 87th minute.

Josh Sargent scored in Werder Bremen’s 3-2 home win over Augsburg. Yuya Osako put Werder up in the 6th with Augsburg leveling the score in the 12th minute. Sargent returned the Werder lead in the 21st with Augsburg going a man down in the 34th. Augsburg equalized in the 46th. Osako scored again for Werder in the 67th minute.

“It was an important game for us,” Sargent said. “We’re all relieved to have got the victory. Now we can look forward to the next few games and play with more freedom.”

Staying in the Bundesliga, Fabian Johnson subbed out int he 73rd minute for Gladbach’s 3-1 home loss to RB Leipzig. Timo Werner scored for Leipzig in the 38th and 47th with Breel Embolo pulling a goal back in the 90th. Werner finished off his hat-trick four minutes into stoppage time.

John Brooks’s Wolfsburg drew 1-1 at home with Paderborn. Trailing from the 12th minute, Josip Brekalo equalized in the 56th. Weston McKennie’s Schalke 04 beat Hertha BSC 3-0 at home. Hertha gave up own-goals in the 38th and 48th minutes with Jonjoe Kenny scoring in the 85th. Zack Steffen and Alfredo Morales’s Fortuna Dusseldorf lost 2-1 at Eintracht. Rouwen Hennings scored for Fortuna in the 36th minute with Bas Dost equalizing in the 57th. Goncalo Paciencia scored Eintracht’s winner in the 86th minute.

Julian Green’s Furth drew 2-2 at Arminia Bielefeld in the 2.Bundesliga. Branimir Hrgota scored for Furth in the 4th minute with Havard Nielsen doubling the lead in the 22nd. Arminia converted a 28th minute penalty and equalized in the 62nd. Bobby Wood subbed on in the 87th minute for Hamburg’s 3-0 home shutout of Hannover 96. Sonny Kittel scored in the 35th minute with David Kinsombi doubling the lead in the 59th. Bakery Jatta made it 3-0 in the 75th minute.

Terrence Boyd played 81 minutes and scored in Hallescher’s 4-0 home shutout of Sonnenhof Grossaspach in the 3.Liga. An own-goal opened the scoring in the 13th with Boyd getting his goal in the 38th. Patrick Gobel made it 3-0 in the 66th with Jonas Nietfeld scoring in the 86th.

Christian Pulisic’s Chelsea drew 2-2 at home with Sheffield United in the Premier League. Pulisic setup Tammy Abraham’s opener in the 19th minute with Abraham scoring again in the 43rd. Sheffield United pulled a goal back in the 46th and equalized through an 89th minute own-goal.

In the Championship, Tim Ream’s Fulham drew 1-1 at Cardiff City. Trailing from the 42nd minute, Aleksandar Mitrovic equalized for Fulham in the 45th. Fulham’s Harry Arter saw red in the 68th minute. Duane Holmes subbed on at halftime for Derby County’s 3-0 loss at Barnsley. Eric Lichaj’s Hull City drew 1-1 at Millwall who went ahead from a 10th minute penalty. Kamil Grosicki equalized in the 18th with Hull’s Josh Magennis seeing red three minutes into stoppage time. Antonee Robinson’s Wigan Athletic finished 0-0 at home with Barnsley who saw red in stoppage time.

In League One, Lyndon Gooch subbed out in the 63rd minute for Sunderland’s 3-0 loss at Peterborough United in League One. Sunderland finished with nine men after red cards to Luke O’Nien in the 71st and Charlie Wyke in the 77th. Matthew Olosunde’s Rotherham United drew 1-1 at home with Tranmere Rovers. Olosunde assisted on Ben Wiles’s goal in the 73rd with Tranmere equalizing in stoppage time.

Luis Gil played 82 minutes and scored in Viktoria Zizkov’s 3-3 draw at Lisen. Trailing from the 27th minute, Josef Bazal equalized for Zizkov in the 32nd. With Lisen up again from a 49th minute goal, Gil equalized in the 65th. Zizkov took the lead when David Capek scored in the 70th with Lisen equalizing in the 88th minute. Tyler Boyd subbed out at haltime for Besiktas in their 1-1 home draw with Rizespor. Trailing from the 37th minute, Domagoj Vida equalized for Besiktas in the 53rd.

Romain Gall subbed on in the 79th minute for Malmo’s 5-0 win at Kalmar. Soren Rieks scored in the 3rd minute. Markis Rosenberg doubled the lead in the 32nd and converted a 51st minute penalty. Arnor Traustason made it 4-0 in the 60th with Jo Inge Berget finishing off the scoring in the 77th. Aron Johannsson subbed on in the 20th minute for Hammarby’s 2-0 loss at Norrkoping. Hammarby’s Nikola Durdic saw red six minutes into stoppage time. Sergino Dest subbed out in stoppage time for Ajax’s 4-1 win at Sparta Rotterdam. Quincy Promes scored for Ajax in the 25th with Hakim Ziyech making it 2-0 in the 31st. Dusan Tadic converted a 58th minute penalty and Ziyech scored again in the 60th. Sparta pulled a goal back in the 75th minute.
