Christian Pulisic added to his game winning assist in the Champions League midweek with a Premier League hat-trick in the 4-2 win at Burnley. Pulisic’s goals came in the 21st, 45th, and 56th minutes with Willian making it 4-0 in the 58th. Burnley scored in the 86th and 89th minutes.
“It’s incredible, honestly I can’t believe it,” Pulisic said. “The goals were amazing. It’s tough to say which was my favourite. The header was cool but I think I’d have to go with the first one, the left foot, I don’t know why. It’s actually my first professional hat-trick so I nearly forgot the match ball, luckily my teammates helped me out.”
Also in the Premier League, DeAndre Yedlin’s Newcastle United drew 1-1 at home with Wolves. Jamaal Lascelles put United up in the 37th with Wolves equalizing in the 73rd. Newcastle’s Sean Longstaff saw red in the 82nd minute.
In the Championship, Cameron Carter-Vickers’s Stoke City lost 2-0 at Millwall. Stoke fell behind in the 28th with Millwall converting a 75th minute penalty. Duane Holmes’s Derby County lost 2-0 at Eric Lichaj’s Hull City. Jarrod Bowen scored in the 74th and 80th minutes. George Long kept the clean sheet. Tim Ream’s Fulham drew 0-0 at Middlesbrough. Fulham’s Marek Rodak saw red in the 17th minute. On Monday, Geoff Cameron subbed out in the 72nd minute for QPR’s 3-1 home loss to Brentford. Trailing from the 23rd minute, Grant Hall equalized for QPR in the 48th. Brentford went ahead for good from a 60th minute penalty, scoring again four minutes into stoppage time.
Matthew Olosunde subbed off in the 72nd minute for Rotherham United’s 1-0 home loss to Wycombe Wanderers in League One. Scott Kashket scored in the 5th minute.
Zack Steffen was in goal and Alfredo Morales subbed on in the 26th minute for Fortuna Dusseldorf in their 2-0 loss at Paderborn. Josh Sargent subbed on in the 86th minute and had an assist in Werder Bremen’s 2-2 draw at Bayer Leverkusen. An own-goal put Bayer up in the 4th with Milot Rashica equalizing in the 40th. Sargent assisted on Davy Klassen’s goal in the 48th. Bayer equalized in the 58th.
John Brooks’s Wolfsburg drew 0-0 at home with Augsburg. Timmy Chandler subbed on in the 79th minute for Eintracht’s 4-2 loss at Gladbach. Marcus Thurham put Gladbach up in the 28th minute with Oscar Wendt doubling the lead in first-half stoppage time. Danny da Costa pulled a goal back for Eintracht in the 59th. Nico Elvedi made it 3-1 Gladbach in the 75th. Eintracht’s Martin Hinteregger scored in the 79th with Denis Zakaria finishing off the Gladbach goals in the 85th.
Julian Green’s Furth finished 0-0 at Osnabruck in the 2.Bundesliga. Green saw yellow in stoppage time. Terrence Boyd had a goal and an assist in Hallescher’s 3-3 home draw with Meppen.Boyd assisted on Pascal Sohm’s 12th minute opener with Boyd doubling the lead in the 19th. Meppen responded with goals in the 30th and 36th minute. Meppen went a man down in the 40th with Julian Guttau making it 3-2 Hallescher in the 58th. Meppen equalized from the penalty spot in the 74th minute.
Luis Gil subbed off in the 81st minute in Viktoria Zizkov’s 1-0 home win over Brno. David Brezina scored in the 70th minute. Mix Diskerud subbed out in the 70th minute in Ulsan Hyundai’s 2-1 home win over Gangwon. Junior Negrao scored for Ulsan in the 3rd and 10th minute. Gangwon converted a penalty in first-half stoppage time. Andrija Novakovich subbed on in the 79th minute for Frosinone’s 1-1 draw at Cremonese. Federico Dionisi scored for Frosinone in the 72nd minute with Cremonese equalizing in the 84th.
Sergino Dest subbed out in the 81st minute for Ajax’s 4-0 home win over Feyenoord. Hakim Ziyech scored in the 2nd minute with Nicolas Tagliafico doubling the lead in the 7th. David Neres made it 3-0 in the 37th with Donny van de Beek finishing off the goals in the 40th minute. Andre Onana didn’t need a save to keep the clean sheet. Aron Johannsson subbed on in the 62nd minute for Hammarby’s 2-1 win at Ostersund. Imad Khalili scored for Hammarby in the 50th minute with Nikola Durdic doubling the lead in the 72nd. Ostersund pulled a goal back in the 84th.
Ventura Alvarado’s Necaxa won 2-0 at Atlas in Liga MX. Mauro Quiroga scored in the 73rd and 76th minutes. Rubio Rubin’s Dorados drew 1-1 at Loros Universidad a league down. Dorados fell a goal down in the 2nd minute with Dorados equalizing in the 54th.
