A league down, Julian Green's Furth beat Darmstadt 3-1 at home. Branimir Hrgota put Furth up in the 31st with an own-goal doubling the lead in the 37th. Hrgota scored again in the 47th. Darmstadt pulled a goal back in the 87th minute. Terrence Boyd's Hallescher lost 1-0 at FC Magdeburg in the 3.Liga. Magdeburg scored in the 43rd minute.
In the Premier League, Christian Pulisic scored in Chelsea's 2-1 win at Watford. Tammy Abraham put Chelsea up in the 5th with Christian Pulisic making it 2-0 in the 55th. Watford converted an 80th minute penalty. Pulisic subbed out in the 83rd minute.
"It was closer than it needed to be," Pulisic said. "We were unfortunate with the penalty, we were really dominating the second half but Watford put up a good fight at the end. That is where we want to be. We are a big club and we need to fight to be as close to the top as we can."
Also in the Premier League, DeAndre Yedlin's Newcastle United beat West Ham 3-2 away. Ciaran Clark scored for Newcastle in the 16th minute with Federico Fernandez making it 2-0 in the 22nd. Jonjo Shelvey added a goal in the 51st. West Ham scored in the 73rd and 90th minutes.
Eric Lichaj's Hull City shutout Tim Ream's Fulham 3-0 away in the Championship. Josh Bowler opened the scoring in the 9th minute with Jarrod Bowen scoring in the 57th. Ton Eaves finished off the goals in the 84th minute.
Matt Miazga's Reading beat Millwall 2-1 at home. Jordan Obita scored for Reading in the 9th with Sam Baldock doubling the lead in the 37th. Millwall pulled a goal back in the 63rd. Antonee Robinson's Wigan Athletic lost 2-1 to Swansea City. Trailing from the 12th minute, Kieffer Moore equalized from the penalty spot in the 21st. Swansea scored two minutes into stoppage time. Duane Holmes's Derby County shutout Middlesbrough 2-0 at home. Tom Lawrence scored in the 22nd minute. Boro went a man down in the 32nd with Lawrence scoring again in the 84th.

On Monday, Cameron Carter-Vickers's Stoke City lost 2-0 at home to West Brom in the Championship. Stoke fell behind in the 8th minute and gave up a 69th minute penalty. Carter-Vickers saw yellow in the 66th minute.
Romain Gall subbed on in the 75th minute for Malmo's 5-0 win at Orebro. Rasmus Bengtsson scored in the 11th minute with Arnor Traustason making it 2-0 in the 15th. Soren Rieks scored in the 57th with Marchus Rosenberg adding goals in the 61st and 67th. Malmo finished in 2nd-place in the Allsvenskan. Erik Palmer-Brown's Austria Wien lost 2-0 at LASK.
