Eddie Robinson
6' 1"
Biography of USMNT soccer player Eddie Robinson who was part of three MLS Cup winners in San Jose and Houston.
Caps: 1 | Goals: 1
A one-club loyalist, Eddie Robinson’s only move came when his team San Jose relocated to Houston. His attitude to teamwork is reflected in his all-out commitment through every game and every tackle, and it has brought its own rewards.
These include three MLS Cup championship rings (one in SJ, two in Houston), and countless accolades that invariably ended with the question, ‘Why has this man not been capped for the USMNT?’ Bob Bradley finally answered this question by calling the uncompromising center-back to training camp in January 2008, then rewarding his efforts with a debut cap against Sweden.
Robinson’s response was typical. A battling performance at the back, and a goal on his debut when he smashed in a loose ball in the penalty box off a corner to help the USMNT start the year with a 2-0 win.
Eddie retired in 2011 and works in the Dynamo front office.
