Gold Cup: USMNT 1 – Panama 1

The USMNT opened their 2017 Gold Cup schedule with a 1-1 draw against Panama in Nashville. Dom Dwyer put the USMNT up in the 50th minute taking advantage of a Kelyn Rowe assist. It was Dwyer’s second goal in his second game. Panama showed well taking chances from distance and pressing the USMNT back line. That work paid off in the 60th minute when Miguel Camargo equalized.

“Obviously, we’re disappointed not to get three points,” Dwyer told Fox following the game. “There’s a lot to build on. It was very tough conditions today, but we’ll keep working on it.”

The USMNT plays Martinique in their second group B game on July 12 in Tampa (9pm ET – FS1). Panama plays Nicaragua in the early game at Raymond James Stadium.
