The USMNT fell behind in the 44th minute when Johan Venegas headed in a Christian Bolanos cross from just outside the six-yard box. Bolanos scored in the 68th minute. Joel Campbell made it 3-0 in the 74th minute. Campbell came on for the injured Venegas in the 67th. He scored again in the 78th minute. USMNT coach Jurgen Klinsmann used his first substitution to bring on Lynden Gooch in the 70th minute, cap tying the Sunderland player.

Also from the Hexagonal, Honduras beat Trinidad & Tobago 3-1 in San Pedro Sula. T&T goalkeeper Jan-Michael Williams was knocked out in a collision and left the game in the 10th minute. Rommel Quito put Honduras up in the 16th minute with Emilio Izaguirre doubling the lead three minutes later. Carlyle Mitchell pulled a goal back for T&T in the 51st. Gabriel Hernandez scored Honduras’s third goal in the 81st minute. Trinidad & Tobago played a man down from the 84th minute. After T&T used all of their substitutes, Khaleem Hyland couldn’t continue with an injury.

Panama held Mexico to a scoreless draw in Panama City.
