The USMNT continued their 2017 Gold Cup preparations with a 2-1 friendly win over Ghana at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, CT.

USMNT 2 – Ghana 1

Dom Dwyer had quite the start to his USMNT career against Ghana at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Connecticut. Dwyer scored in his debut for the squad. Dwyer’s goal came in the 18th minute in the warm-up friendly in advance of the 2017 Gold Cup. He was one of three players to debut for the USMNT on Saturday.

USMNT goalkeeper Brad Guzan kept the USMNT in the lead, saving a penalty in first Kellyn Acosta doubled the USMNT lead in the 52nd minute, scoring from a free kick just outside the box. Ghana pulled a goal back from their own free kick in the 60th minute. Asamoah Gyan lined up a shot from outside the arc and scored.

The USMNT opens Gold Cup play next Saturday against Panama in Nashville. That game is available on national television with Fox’s coverage starting at 4:30pm ET.
