USMNT World Cup qualifying roster – October 2017
US Soccer released the roster for the October 2017 World Cup qualifiers on Sunday. USMNT coach Bruce Arena called in 26 players to prepare for Friday’s game against Panama (7:30pm – ESPN2). The USMNT travels to Trinidad & Tobago for the final CONCACAF World Cup qualifier on October 10 (8pm ET – beIN Sport). The USMNT starts the final stretch of qualifying in 4th-place, needing a top-three finish to advance directly to the 2018 World Cup and avoid an intercontinental playoff.
It’s a roster we’ve selected that we believe will give us success in these next two games,” Arena said. “We have a pretty balanced roster with experienced players and if any issues arise, I think we have cover in all positions. We need to anticipate some issues with players with injuries, as well as suspensions.”
UPDATE: Gyasi Zardes withdrew on October 1 due to an injury.
