Sam Vines ascended into the USMNT player pool in 2020 after representing the USA at multiple youth levels and becoming one of the top young left backs in MLS. After signing a homegrown contract with the Colorado Rapids in 2018, he grew into a regular starter in 2019 and the following season played every minute for the club, also earning his USMNT debut. In 2021 he played in five of the USMNT’s six games in its run to the Gold Cup title, scoring his first senior international goal in the opening match vs. Haiti, and later that summer he signed with Royal Antwerp. In 2022-23 he and Antwerp won a league-cup double while also competing in the UEFA Europa Conference League. Vines moved to Colorado in January, 2024.

Started against Trinidad and Tobago on Jan 31. Started against Haiti and scored in the Gold Cup on July 11; also started against Canada on Jul 18, against Jamaica on July 25, and against Qatar on July 29. Subbed on against Mexico on Aug 1.

Debuted for the USMNT in January camp against Costa Rica on Feb 1, subbed on against El Salvador on Dec 9.

2023-24
Spent the first half of the season with Royal Antwerp, moving to Colorado in Jan, 2024. Played in 27 games with the Rapids, finishing 7th in the West and exiting the playoffs in Round One.
2022-23
Appeared in 24 matches for Royal Antwerp, scoring one goal and two assists as the club won a league-cup double while also competing in the Europa Conference League.
2021-22
Signed with Royal Antwerp on Aug 5, 2021. Despite suffering a fractured collarbone in his first weeks at the club, made 30 appearances for the club across all competitions as Antwerp finished 3rd.

Appeared in eight matches for Colorado, scoring one goal and one assist as the Rapids finished 1st in the Western Conference.
2020
Played all 1,620 minutes of the Rapids' 18-game regular season, scoring one goal and three assists as Colorado qualified for the MLS playoffs. Named to MLSsoccer.com's 22 Under 22 list.

2018
Signed a homegrown contract with Colorado on Feb 23, made two appearances for the Rapids, scoring one assist in a US Open Cup match. Made 29 USL appearances on loan at Charlotte Independence as Charlotte finished 5th in the Eastern Conference and qualified for the USL playoffs.
