USMNT 6 – St Vincent and the Grenadines 1

November 13, 2015 by US Soccer Players

The USMNT fell behind early to St Vincent and the Grenadines on Friday night at Busch Stadium, but recovered quickly to take control of the game. Seattle Sounders 2 player Oalex Anderson surprised the USMNT defense in the 5th minute, scoring from just inside the box. Bobby Wood headed in the USMNT’s equalizer. The USA went ahead for good when Fabian Johnson converted a free kick from just outside the box. Jozy Altidore made it 3-1 USMNT in the 31st, heading in a Fabian Johnson corner with Jermaine Jones picking up the assist.

The goals continued in the second-half with the USMNT now playing toward the baseball diamond. Geoff Cameron heading in a redirected corner in the 51st. Gyasi Zardes made it 5-1 in the 58th. Altidore got a deflection to score his second goal of the game in the 74th. US Soccer announced a crowd of 43,433 just short of the Busch Stadium record set by a Chelsea vs Manchester United friendly last summer.

USMNT coach Jurgen Klinsmann subbed on Portland Timbers forward Darlington Nagbe and New York Red Bulls defender Matt Miazga in the 64th minute, cap tying both players to the United States. Klinsmann used his final sub to bring on college player Jordan Morris in the 68th.
