USMNT 4 – Trinidad & Tobago 0

September 6, 2016 by US Soccer Players

The USMNT had no issues with Trinidad & Tobago on Tuesday, finishing on top of Group C with a 4-0 win. The USMNT got to work early with Christian Pulisic in the starting lineup and doing work up top. Pulisic was unable to convert on a couple of chances, but the moment was firmly with the USMNT. That paid off when Sacha Kljestan opened the scoring in the 44th minute. Jozy Altidore took over in the second-half, scoring in the 60th and 63rd minute. Paul Arriola added a fourth goal in the 72nd after subbing on in the 66th minute.

The USMNT advances to the Hexagonal where they will open against Mexico at home on November 11. Trinidad & Tobago takes the runners-up slot. Guatemala didn’t advance, finishing Group C play with a 9-3 win over St Vincent and the Grenadines. Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Trinidad & Tobago and the United States advance to the Hexagonal round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying.
