Jamaica 1 – USMNT 3

The USMNT advanced to the 2019 Gold Cup final to play Mexico on Sunday in Chicago (9pm ET – FS1). The USA beat Jamaica 3-1 in a game interrupted by a lengthy weather delay in the first-half. Weston McKennie opened the scoring for the USMNT with a 9th minute goal. Lightning caused officials to suspend the game in the 15th minute with the teams not returning to the field for 90 minutes. Christian Pulisic made it 2-0 USMNT in the 52nd minute. Shamar Nicholson scored for Jamaica in the 69th, the first goal the USA has given up at this Gold Cup. Pulisic score again in the 87th minute.

“I think we started off good… right up until the thunderstorm when we had to go inside,” McKennie said. “I think when we came back out it looked like a different game. Definitely messed up with the momentum that we had going there. We talked about it in the locker room. We wanted to come out and finish the game out and get another goal because we knew it was going to be crucial against them.”
