Alex Zendejas returned to the USMNT picture in 2023, nearly eight years after starring for the US Under-17s at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Born in Ciudad Juarez and raised in Texas, the winger rose through FC Dallas’ academy system and signed an MLS homegrown contract in 2014. Two years later he moved to Mexican powerhouse Chivas, then made his Liga MX breakthrough at Necaxa, scoring 11 goals and two assists from 2020-22. He signed with América in 2022, becoming a reliable contributor for one of Mexico’s most successful clubs. After spending time in Mexico’s national team system, the dual national committed his international future to the USA in March 2023 and earned seven caps that year, scoring his first senior international goal as the USMNT successfully defended its Concacaf Nations League title.

Won the 2023 Apertura with Club America after finishing top of the table in the regular season. Won the Clausura title with Club America, once again finishing 1st in the regular season. Made 42 appearances across both competitions, scoring nine goals.
2022-23
Appeared in 38 matches across Apertura, Clausura, Liguilla and Leagues Cup competitions for América, scoring 11 goals and four assists as the club finished first in the Apertura regular season and second in the Clausura regular season, reaching the Liguilla semifinals in both postseasons.
2021-22
Appeared in 18 Liga MX matches for Necaxa, scoring six goals and two assists in the Apertura, then signed with América on Jan 17 and made 18 appearances for the club in Clausura and Liguilla play, scoring five goals as América reached the Liguilla semifinals.
2020-21
Signed with Necaxa on June 29, 2020. Appeared in 32 matches across Guardianes Apertura, Clausura and Apertura Liguilla action, scoring five goals.
2019-20
Appeared in three matches for Chivas across Liga MX Apertura and Copa MX play while also playing for the club's U-20s as the club finished 10th in the Apertura.
2018-19
Appeared in 10 matches across all competitions for the Chivas first team, scoring one goal and one assist as the club finished 11th in the Apertura and 14th in the Clausura.
2017-18
Made 40 appearances across all competitions on loan from Chivas to Club Atlético Zacatepec as Zacatepec finished fourth in both the Ascenso Apertura and Clausura regular seasons.
2016-17
Signed with Chivas Guadalajara on June 23, 2016 and appeared in 10 matches across all competitions for the first team as Chivas finished fourth in the Apertura and third in the Clausura before winning the latter's Liguilla tournament.
2015
Made his first-team debut at age 17 against Houston on May 1 and appeared in eight MLS matches and two US Open Cup matches for FC Dallas as the club finished first in the Western Conference and reached the conference finals.
Youth and College
Played for FC Dallas' El Paso affiliate club before joining its main academy in Frisco in 2012 at age 13. Also took part in the US Soccer U-17 Residency Program in Bradenton, Florida.
