Cade Cowell started his professional career as a San Jose homegrown player in 2019, moving into the first team the following season. He quickly emerged as a quality winger for the Earthquakes as he progressed through the USMNT youth system. Cowell played at U-16, U-17, U-20, and U-23 levels, debuting with the senior squad at the end of 2021. That same year he was named an MLS All-Star. Drawing attention outside of Major League Soccer, Cowell completed a move to Chivas in Liga MX in 2024.

In his final season with the Earthquakes, Cowell played in 23 games. San Jose finished 9th and exited the playoffs in the wildcard round.

Played in 31 games for San Jose and finished 14th.
2021
A regular with San Jose with 33 appearances and five goals finishing 10th.
2020
Played in 17 games for the Earthquakes, finishing sixth and exiting the playoffs in round one.
2019
Signed a Homegrown Player contract with San Jose, playing in the US Open Cup. Had four appearances with Reno 1868 in the USL Championship.
