Malik Tillman filed a one-time switch to commit his international allegiance to the United States in May 2022 after representing both Germany and the USA at youth national team levels, and immediately pushed into the USMNT reckoning. He made his senior debut in a 3-0 win over Morocco on June 10, 2022 and earned five more caps across 2022 and 2023.
A native of Nuremburg whose father was a US serviceman, Tillman is a talented, versatile attacker capable of playing the final pass as well as applying the finishing touch. He and his older brother Timothy rose through the SpVgg Greuther Furth academy before moving to Bayern Munich’s together in 2015, when Malik was 13. He shined at various youth levels for Bayern and made his Bundesliga debut with the first team during the 2021-22 season, a member of squads that won the 2020 UEFA Super Cup and German Supercup and 2022 Bundesliga titles.
Tillman excelled on loan at Glasgow Rangers in 2022-23, scoring 12 goals and five assists in 42 overall appearances en route to the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award. In August 2023 he signed a contract extension with Bayern that runs until 2026, then joined PSV on a season-long loan, quickly becoming a regular in Eredivisie and UEFA Champions League action. Tillman transferred to PSV on May 10, 2024.

Won the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award and a place in the SPL's Team of the Year after scoring 12 goals and five assists in 42 overall appearances, finishing in a three-way tie for second on the club's '22-23 scoring chart. Joined PSV on a season-log loan on Aug. 10 annd scored 3 goals, 1 assist in his first 6 appearances with the Red-and-Whites.
2021-22
Joined Scottish powerhouse Rangers FC on a season-long loan on July 15, 2022, and made his club debut off the bench in a 2-1 Scottish Premiership win over Livingston later that month. Scored the series-winning goal in a 3-2 aggregate third-round Champions League qualifying win over Belgium's Union Saint-Gilloise as Rangers advanced to the tournament's group stage.
2020-21
Signed his first professional contract with Bayern Munich shortly after earning promotion from the reserve team. Made his first-team debut, and scored a goal, as a substitute in a DFB-Pokal cup match against Bremer SV on August 25, 2021. Made his UEFA Champions League debut as a sub in a 2-1 win over Dynamo Kiev in November, and his Bundesliga debut as a second-half sub in a 5-0 victory over VfB Stuttgart in December.
2019-20
Made his professional debut for Bayern Munich II, the club's reserve side. Later named to the Bayern squad which won the 2020 UEFA Champions League tournament in Lisbon.
Youth and College
Malik and his older brother Timothy rose through their local Greuther Fürth's youth system before moving together to the Bayern Munich academy in 2015. Malik quickly rose through Bayern's youth teams and on to the reserves, then the first team, and was nominated for Tuttosport's Golden Boy award in 2022.
