Walker Zimmerman goal celebration.

Walker Zimmerman got his start in MLS as a member of the FC Dallas defense. Emerging as a key player in the Dallas setup, Zimmerman was a high profile acquisition for the expansion LAFC in 2018. Already receiving National Team attention, Zimmerman became a regular as part of the 2019 Gold Cup squad. By the 2022 World Cup qualifying cycle, he was a lock at center back for USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter. Moving to Nashville in a surprise trade prior to the 2020 season, he won the MLS Defender of the Year award that season and again in 2021. A three-time All-Star and MLS Best XI honoree, Zimmerman became a Designated Player in 2022.
