In a game where opportunities were there for USMNT players willing to take them, forward Chris Wondolowski stepped up for the USA in a 2-0 win. Wondolowski headed the ball in to open the scoring in the 4th minute. Brad Davis sent the ball across the box for Wondolowski. Landon Donovan setup Wondolowski for his second goal of the game in the 60th minute. Wondolowski exited in the 62nd minute for Eddie Johnson with USMNT coach Jurgen Klinsmann making three changes at the same time. Nick Rimando picked up the shutout.
Deandre Yedlin and Luis Gil made their USMNT debuts. Mike Magee was unavailable due to food poisoning.
The USMNT’s next game is in Ukraine on Mar 5 on an official FIFA friendly date.
