USMNT roster for Mexico friendly
USMNT coach Jurgen Klinsmann announced his 22-player roster for Wednesday’s friendly against Mexico at the Alamodome in San Antonio (8:30pm ET – Fox Sports 1). With this friendly occurring outside of the international release windows, Klinsmann faced selection limitations. That means the bulk of the roster plays in MLS or Liga MX, with DeAndre Yedlin from Spurs and Julian Green from Hamburg also in the squad. Klinsmann called in Stanford University player Jordan Morris to complete his 22. Jozy Altidore wasn’t eligible for this squad due to his red card in the last USMNT game.
Mexico is already readjusting due to injuries, travelling with a 19-player squad made up of Liga MX players.
UPDATE: On Monday, US Soccer announced that DC United’s Perry Kitchen replaces Michael Orozco on the roster.
