USMNT 2 – Peru 1

September 5, 2015 by US Soccer Players

USMNT forward Jozy Altidore made the difference against Peru at RFK Stadium on Friday night. Trailing from the 20th minute when Daniel Chavez scored for Peru, Altidore equalized from the penalty spot in the 59th minute. He converted his own rebound after the penalty was blocked. Gyasi Zardes setup Altidore’s second goal in the 68th minute. USMNT goalkeeper Brad Guzan made three aves to keep the clean sheet.

As promised, USMNT coach Jurgen Klinsmann used all six of his allowable substitutions. He made three changes at the half eventually swapping out three of his four defenders. The USMNT returns to action on September 8 in an international friendly against Brazil at Gillette Stadium.
