USMNT 2 – Mexico 2

The USMNT put together a strong first-half against Mexico on Wednesday night at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ in a 2-2 draw.

With US coach Jurgen Klinsmann starting an MLS lineup, Michael Bradley opened the scoring for the USMNT in the 14th minute. Bradley scored from a Graham Zusi corner, with the USMNT responding to early pressure from Mexico with pressure of their own. Bradley setup the USMNT’s second goal with Chris Wondolowski scoring in the 28th minute.

Mexico responded after halftime with Rafa Marquez pulling a goal back in the 49th minute. Alan Pulido equalized for Mexico in the 67th minute.

USMNT coach Jurgen Klinsmann used several substitutes, bringing Landon Donovan, Clarence Goodson, and Julian Green on in the 59th minute. Green made his international debut for the senior USMNT squad, completing a process that started with his change of international association a few weeks ago. Klinsmann went to his bench again in the 64th minute, bringing on Eddie Johnson. It was Johnson with the USMNT’s best chance in the second-half, with a goal called back in the 85th minute. Replays showed the goal was onside.
