USMNT roster for November 2016 Qualifiers
USMNT coach Jurgen Klinsmann called in 26 players for the November 2016 World Cup qualifiers. The USMNT opens the Hexagonal round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying against Mexico in Columbus on Friday (7:45pm ET – Fox Sports 1). The November international window concludes at Costa Rica on Nov 15 (9pm ET – beIN Sport). CONCACAF advances the top three finishers in the Hex directly to the 2018 World Cup. the 4th-place team faces a playoff.
“Obviously the Mexico clash is a six-pointer to start the Hexagonal right away,” Klinsmann said. “We badly want to continue the tradition of beating them in Columbus. Having 26 players coming in gives us many different options for both games. It allows us to evaluate certain players, like a Jermaine Jones, to see how far he has come along fitness wise. Bringing in the likes of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Lynden Gooch and Caleb Stanko proves that the younger players are pushing through.”
