USMNT 1 – Jamaica 0

The USMNT picked up a friendly win on Friday, shutting out Jamaica 1-0 at Finley Stadium in Tennessee. Jordan Morris scored the game’s only goal in the 59th minute. The game ends a January camp that saw the team regroup after a coaching change.

USMNT coach Bruce Arena didn’t disappoint with promised changes to the formation and the personnel in Chattanooga. Arena swapped out nine players and went with a 4-1-3-2 that left Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore on the bench. In their place, Graham Zusi got the captain’s armband and Jordan Morris and Juan Agudelo started as the forward pairing. FC Dallas defender Walker Zimmerman made his debut for the USMNT in the starting lineup. Arena also opted to use his goalkeeping pool, starting Luis Robles and subbing him out at the half for David Bingham.

“It was huge,” Zimmerman told FS1 in the post-game. “We talked about it this whole camp. We got some good performances… especially after the draw with Serbia to put in the effort that we did… it’s a great effort from the group.”
