The USMNT advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2021 Gold Cup with a win over Martinique but will need to beat Canada to take 1st-place.

Gold Cup: Martinique 1 – USMNT 6

The USMNT picked up three points in Gold Cup group B with a 6-1 win over Martinique in Kansas City. They enter Sunday’s final group stage game against Canada (5pm ET – FOX) tied on points and goal difference but in 2nd-place on goals for. Canada beat Haiti 4-1 in the early game. With the USMNT and Canada wins, Martinique and Haiti are both officially eliminated from advancing with a game left.

Daryl Dike opened the scoring in the 14th minute with an own-goal doubling the lead in the 23rd. Miles Robinson made it 3-0 in the 50th with Dike scoring again in the 59th minute. Martinique’s Emmanuel Riviere converted a 64th minute penalty. The USMNT continued to press the offense with Gyasi Zardes scoring in the 70th and Nicholas Gioacchini adding a sixth goal in the 90th minute.
