Champions League win for Atletico Madrid, loss for Atalanta

Thursdays roundup has USMNT players in the Europa League round of 16 first-legs, starting with Tanner Tessmann subbing on in the 85th for Lyon’s 1-1 draw at Celta Vigo. Down a goal from the 25th and playing up a man from the 54th, Endrick equalized for Lyon in the 87th minute.

In the Conference League round of 16 first-legs, Chris Richards’s Crystal Palace drew 0-0 at home with AEK Larnaca.

Concacaf Champions Cup round of 16 first-legs

FC Cincinnati took a 3-0 first-leg lead, beating Tigres at home. Kevin Denkey put Cincinnati up in the 6th, Tom Barlow doubled the lead in the 53rd, and Denkey scored again in the 83rd minute.

Seattle won 3-0 at Vancouver, taking the lead from a Paul Arriola goal in the 45th. Arriola scored again in the 58th and Paul Rothrock finished off the Sounders’ scoring in the 70th minute.

Wednesday’s roundup once again starts in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 first-legs, where Malik Tillman subbed on in the 74th for Bayer Leverkusen’s 1-1 home draw with Arsenal. Robert Andrich put Leverkusen up in the 46th and Arsenal equalized from an 89th minute penalty.

In the Championship, Aidan Morris’s Middlesbrough lost 1-0 at home to Charlton Athletic. Boro fell behind in the 59th minute. Daryl Dike and George Campbell’s West Brom drew 1-1 at home with Southampton. Dike subbed out in the 77th. Jayson Molumby scored West Brom’s goal in the 45th with Dike assisting. Southampton equalized a minute into stoppage time.

Concacaf Champions Cup round of 16 first-legs

Nashville drew 0-0 at home with Inter Miami, putting four shots on goal to Miami’s one.

The LA Galaxy shutout Mount Pleasant FA 3-0 at home, with Gabriel Pec scoring in the 6, 89th, and six minutes into stoppage time.

San Diego beat Toluca 3-2 at home. San Diego played a man down from the 12th when Marcus Ingvartsen saw red. Jesus Gallardo converted a Toluca penalty in the 16th. David Vazquez equalized for San Diego in the 32nd and scored again in the 46th. Anders Dreyer made it 3-1 San Diego in the 53rd. San Diego saw a second red card in the 88th, with Manu Duah exiting. Toluca’s Helinho converted a penalty in the 90th minute.

Tuesday’s USMNT players abroad roundup starts in the Champions League, where Johnny Cardoso’s Atletico Madrid beat Spurs 5-2 at home. Atletico Madrid took the lead from a Marcos Llorente goal in the 6th. Antione Griezmann doubled Atletico’s lead in the 14th, Julian Alvarez scored in the 15th, and Robin Le Normand made it 4-0 in the 22nd. Spurs scored in the 26th. Alvarez added a fifth Atletico goal in the 55th with Spurs scoring again in the 76th minute.

Yunus Musah subbed on in the 55th for Atalanta’s 6-1 home loss to Bayern Munich in the first-leg of their round of 16 series. Trailing from goals in the 12th, 22nd, 25th, 52nd, 64th, and 67th, Mario Pasalic scored for Atalanta three minutes into stoppage time.

Moving to the Championship, Patrick Agyemang’s Derby County lost 1-0 at Millwall to a 43rd minute goal.

Matko Miljevic subbed on in the 58th for Racing Club’s 0-0 draw at Sarmiento in Argentina’s Primera Division. Racing Club’s Marco Di Cesare saw red in the 63rd minute.

Concacaf Champions Cup round of 16 first-legs

Alex Zendejas subbed out in the 67th for Club America’s 1-0 win at the Philadelphia Union. Raphael Veiga scored Club America’s goal in the 20th minute.

LAFC drew 1-1 at home with Alajuelense. Trailing from an Alejandro Bran goal in the 44th, Denis Bouanga equalized for LAFC in the 56th minute.
